The closing symphony concert of GAIDA 2015 will feature the Italian cello star Francesco Dillon playing the Concert for Cello and Orchestra created specially for him by the festival’s guest composer Francesco Filidei, which has won him huge international recognition. The unequalled piano duo of Rūta Rikterė and Zbignevas Ibelhauptas together with the orchestra will perform “The Hague Hacking” by the celebrated Dutch composer and a guru of European minimalism Louis Andriessen. Equally intriguing is the latest work by Gediminas Gelgotas whose world premiere took place several weeks ago in the prestigious Tonhalle in Zurich. Another Lithuanian composer of the young generation, Mykolas Natalevičius, will enrich the sound of the symphony orchestra with enchanting electronic vibes.
