As we anxiously follow the news from Ukraine, the time has come to direct our attention to this country in GAIDA and listen to its musical news brought to us by a unique chamber orchestra from Kiev, New Era Orchestra, established in 2007 and led by the outstanding artist, conductor Tatiana Kalinichenko. As a major participant of the Ukrainian new music scene, NEO turns each of their concerts into an unforgettable event. In Vilnius NEO will perform an intriguing programme of compositions by artists of different generations: Ukrainians – the famous Valentin Silvestrov and Maxim Shalygin, the Lithuanians Jurgis Juozapaitis and Tomas Kutavičius, and the remarkable European composers Iannis Xenakis and Michael Nyman.
