SACRED MUSIC HOURS

JOHANNES EBENBAUER (organ, Austria)

Johannes Ebenbauer inherited his love for music from his organist grandfather. That probably why Ebenbauer did not hesitate in choosing the life of a musician. And as the performer himself admits, he was not wrong – he could not imagine a day in his life without the rumble of the organ.
J. Ebenbauer is not just a regular concert performer, he also contributes greatly to the fostering and spread of sacred music. He is the artistic director of the association Musica Sacra Wien and the organ music festival Quintessenz, and the initiator of a concert cycle of vocal-instrumental music at the Otto Wagner Church. In 2010 J. Ebenbauer made his debut as a conductor, and in 2013 he became a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (of the organ and improvization class).
We must also add that this organist is an excellent improvizationist, so his performance will be crowned by an improvization on a theme suggested by the audience.

Programme - J. S. Bach, J. Ebenbauer, F. M. Bartholdy, A. Heiller, and others.

Concert duration: 60 min.
