It has been 10 years since Gedimino Avenue began to ‘buzz’ during the annual Vilnius City Fiesta and the meeting place cannot be changed! THE BUZZING AVENUE it is not some village market, but it is a place full of cultural actions, creative ideas, it‘s a place where your wishes and fantasies can come true. Neighbors, friends and guests are met here. This is the way of expression!

This year THE BUZZING AVENUE will extend almost through entire Gedimino Avenue and its program will be divided into 4 different areas:

1) Gedimino Avenue from the Cathedral Sq. to V. Kudirkos Sq. – STREET OF ARTS AND MUSIC
This area is for visual arts and craftsmanship, professional painter works, various art ware, pottery and most important - a lot of cultural events and concerts. For those who want cozy and intimate setting on the stage by the National Drama Theatre they will be able to see small bands, bards, actors and other individual performers, who speak from their heart. And for those who want fun and energetic show, various music bands, famous performers, street theatre performances and other projects will take place on the stage by V. Kudirka square.

2) Gedimino avenue from Jogailos str. to A. Jakšto str. – DELICIOUS FAIRING PATH
In this area everyone will be able to taste and to buy various delicacies - one who will come hungry will go out with full stomach! Here you will find the highest quality food: bread, meat, milk, honey, meat products and other delicious goods.

3) Gedimino avenue from Jakšto str. to Vasario 16-osios str. – ALLEY OF BOOKS
Especially loved tradition of THE BUZZING AVENUE is books’ ally. This year it will be located in the section of Gedimino avenue by and around Žemaitės monument. In this part of the avenue you will be able to find a big variety of books presented to you by the main publishers of Vilnius. You will be able to buy books signed by the authors and with huge discounts. Most recent and most talked-about books will be introduced, meetings with writers and publishers will be held. 

4) Gedimino avenue near Lukiškių Square – PARK OF GAMES AND ATTRACTIONS ’’HEAVENLY JOYS’’
In this zone there will be a whole variety of outdoors and board games for youngsters. You will be able to play chess, table football, darts, trampolines, carousel, jumping with rubber rope and various sporting events will be held. For adventurous children there will be plastic bubbles (over 2 m diameter) to roll on the water just in the middle of Gedimino avenue, there also will be moder electric cars for kids. Various genre such as pop/rock, young talents and the most exited children ensembles will play on the stage by Lukišių square. This year for a first time will be held an excibition of air baloons, helicopters and other flying objects.

THE BUZZING AVENUE is always unexpected, spontaneous, alive, huge kettle full of music, dance, art, literature, theatre, improvisation, movement and games.
