Ensemble Banchetto musicale

Director Jūratė Mikiškaitė-Vičienė

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the ensemble Banchetto Musicale invites audiences to the Festival’s opening concert, where you will be able to experience high-society living in the time of Shakespeare. This year is the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, and to mark the occasion, a whole court of dancers and musicians will capture the audience’s senses with a captivating and flirtatious drama. Speaking in the verses of the great English poet’s works, the characters (long-time soloist with Banchetto musicale, Nerijus Masevičius, and Lėlė theatre actress Sigita Mikalauskaitė making her debut with the ensemble) will elegantly bring Shakespeare’s world to life. The famous British choreographer and director, Jane Gingell – and also an expert on culture and life in Shakespeare’s time – has created a spectacle, which is sure to leave an unforgettable impression. All can dance, sing and be merry!
