You heard us right. The music phenomenon from Australia, world vocal percussion (beatbox) champion Tom Thum is coming to the Christopher Summer Festival. Together with composer-conductor Gordon Hamilton, he shall perform the first-ever concerto for beatbox and orchestra, Thum Prints.
The work that was born from the unexpected collaboration of these artists has captivated audiences, professionals and the media alike. Following its premiere, The Guardian wrote: „Tom Thum appears to have swallowed an entire orchestra and several backing singers”. Limelight Magazine described the concerto as „wildly entertaining, innovative, brilliantly unconventional”, titling the soloist as “a vocal magician of the 21st century”.
