GREETINGS FROM MONTMARTRE

Saturday, July 15, 8:30 pm | St. Catherine’s Church (30 Vilniaus St., Vilnius)

A piano recital

ŠARŪNAS MEŠKYS (keyboards)

Usually performers are presented by listing their creative achievements. However, in this case, the image can tell us most about the music: a pianist playing a melancholic melody. In winter. In Nida. On an empty pier...
The pianist, sound engineer and journalist Šarūnas Meškys has been playing the piano from a young age. He is very familiar with pre-contest anticipation and the taste of victory, the finest concert halls in Europe and the country's largest orchestras. Most recently, he has captivated audiences with his debut video clip which combines the awesome beauty of Nida with Yann Tiersen's music, filled with northern melancholy.
This year Šarūnas was a winner at the competition named in honour of this French composer, taking the title of Best Performer and winning the special prize for an exceptional performance.
Tiersen is loved by many and famous for his imitable music specially created for film. During this recital, Meškys shall perform the composer's finest compositions for keyboard instruments, sending us greetings from Montmartre.

Program features works by Yann Tiersen: EUSA piano cycle, compositions from the album 1994 – 2003

Concert duration 70 min.
